This oil painting, painted in impasto technique, had developed a network of craquelure patterns resulting in cupping of the paint layer. Consolidation of this fragile layer was the first step of its treatment. After which, retouching was done to compensate for the loss of paint. Lastly, the uneven surface gloss was removed and uniform surface coating was applied.
